Who we are

Iris, Inc. builds and runs member communities around in-person gatherings on behalf of partner brands. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@irisci.ai.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, mobile number, Instagram handle, email if you provide one.
  • Neighborhood and a few words describing your taste.
  • Images you choose to share with us.
  • Which gatherings you were invited to, replied to, and attended.
  • Who you tell us you would like to see again, and what you tell us you liked or did not like.
  • A record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, when, and from where.
  • Activity information a partner brand shares with us about their own members, used only for that brand's program and reporting.

Text messages

We send invitations, confirmations, reminders, and post-gathering follow-ups by SMS to people who have opted in, either by texting a JOIN keyword or by agreeing on our signup form. Message frequency varies, typically a few messages per gathering you are invited to. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. We honor opt-outs immediately and send only between 8am and 9pm in your local time.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information is used solely to operate Iris. The only parties who ever handle it are the service providers who deliver our messages on our behalf, listed below.

How we use it

To invite you to gatherings, to run those gatherings, to understand what you enjoyed so that future invitations suit you better, and to report program results to the partner brand hosting a gathering.

What we share

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. Partner brands receive program-level reporting and, where a gathering is theirs, the guest list for that gathering. They do not receive your private reflections or your connections unless you have agreed to it. We use service providers to operate Iris, including Supabase (database and storage), Twilio (messaging), and Vercel (hosting); they may handle information only to provide those services to us. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or if Iris is ever acquired or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to information transferred.

Location

We do not track your location. If you use a check-in link at a gathering, your device may confirm you are at the venue at that moment. We keep the fact that you attended, not a location history.

Photography

Gatherings are photographed. By attending you may appear in imagery used by Iris and the brand hosting the gathering. Tell us at any time and we will keep you out of it.

Your choices

Write to hello@irisci.ai to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We respond within 30 days. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.

Keeping it safe

Access is restricted and audited. Images are held privately. We keep consent records for at least four years because the law requires it, and other information for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards. No system is perfectly secure, but if information about you were ever exposed we would tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses only what is necessary to make it work, such as remembering a link you followed. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not put personal information in web addresses or analytics.

Where we operate

Iris runs in the United States and is intended for people in the United States. Information is stored and handled on servers in the US.

Age

Iris is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, tell members directly.
